Okay so I took some Hogan tests recently and found it to be quite interesting on how two sets of 200+ questions can pin you down to a profile of the big 5 traits. Apparently it is "quite hard to fake a profile on a well-developed measure of normal personality" (Robert Hogan) from the many dimensions of questions presented. I'm not an expert in Human Resource Management but I do find that some questions can be taken out of context and may be socially constructed from different culture backgrounds.

 

Take "I like going to parties" - my impression of parties is similar to one would normally expect but it’s completely different if the context of other people who refer to "parties" as (for example) "LAN parties" would bring complete different impression indeed. Imagine how geeks p0wn each other from such "parties" (events) whereby exerted typical school-kid behaviour of “my computer is faster than yours” is blatantly up for show. Now imagine how grandmothers would refer to parties as “crochet parties”. How about some tea now?

 

It's kinda weird being spammed. not your typical spam. but being targeted. most that I got today were chucked into the spam folder automatically by gmail, 20 made it through. someone is really desperate. why not vent in here rather instead? p.s. my mx server pretty much drops most messages anyway but i'm going to change it coz its impossible to use

 

 

But I think owning 3 computers is rather excessive ?

Progressive Enterprises has started their marketing campaign offering discount to petrol (minimum $40 purchase from Woolworths as I recall?)

 

About time they move in line with overseas trends.

Okay the name sounds lame but it lets you use a USB pen drive to improve system performance utilising the allocated free space. I'm sure many of you have few lying around doing nothing so might as well put them to good use. Heads up RC1 seems to have improved software compatibility now.

Notes to self:

Do not charge your iPod, burn a DVD, extract an archive from another dvd drive and use 5 other usb ports simultaneously, they kill the power supply unit.

#1 If i had a time machine I'd go back and not do Infosys 320 - stay away from it

 

#2 Never ever think that getting a job hours during the week will free up more time on the weekends.
